The historic vessel M/V Commander, built in 1917, is listed on the National and State registers of Historic Places. The Commander is US Coast Guard licensed and inspected, with a certified captain and crew.

From May through October, the M/V Commander cruises the Hudson Highlands from West Haverstraw, West Point and Peekskill for group excursions or private party charters. 

The upper deck has ample seating and is partly covered by a canopy, affording both sun and shade for those enjoying the magnificent view of the Hudson Highlands.

The enclosed lower deck has a maximum capacity of 100 passengers and spacious picture windows, allowing for pleasurable viewing of the passing scenery. There are chairs, tables and benches, and an area for dancing.

During the warmer months, those who appreciate informal outdoor daytime excursions or evening cocktail cruises can increase their parties to a maximum of 125 passengers. 
   
The M/V Commander has a fully licensed bar and can cater a range of food from simple picnic fare to gourmet dinners. Menus and prices are available upon request. We also have a variety of suggestions for your musical entertainment.

Private charters are available for brunch, luncheon, cocktails or dinner cruises;  perfect for corporate outings; weddings; anniversaries; club reunions; sweet sixteen parties; bar & bas mitzvahs and other social gatherings.

Week-day cruises, from Haverstraw or West Point,  are available for groups of 30 or more who do not require exclusive use of the boat, with reduced rates for seniors and children. On these cruises, we describe the points of interest and give a brief history of the area.
